Item Description
A good quality, and beautiful purple display specimen of Fluorite hosting very sharp and gemmy cubes sitting on bladed white Barite. The largest cube measures 2.3 cm on edge, and is really worth picking up as the quality is good (better in person) compared to others we've offered in the auctions from this area. The piece has a few minor issues in terms of damage, but it's so beautiful when the crystals are backlit, and it really looks good in indoor lighting or sunlight. Minor accenting Barite blades can be seen near the base of the piece. The best Fluorites from Berbes are among the finest quality Fluorites in the world from the standpoint of gemminess/clarity and luster. From the collection of the long time, beloved, well-known French field collector, Paul Zerfass (Collection #702). Zerfass built this worldwide collection over nearly 50 years, many of which were personally collected. A biography featuring specimens from his collection (along with his face on the cover) is in the May - June 2017 issue of French mineral magazine, Le Regne Mineral. We have a .pdf copy of the article for anybody interested in reading it (though it's mostly in French). Just drop us a line and know that you'd like to have a copy.
