Item Description
An attractive small cabinet specimen featuring a group of sharp, gemmy / transparent "phantomed" beautiful purple to blue color cubic crystals of Fluorite which are accented with little Calcite gem crystals. This locality is well known for its Fluorite specimens, and good specimens are not terribly common to find on the market these days. A few minor nicks, on the display side, but when it's backlit, the internal color is great. This area is completely closed down and will never produce these specimens again. Very showy with the stacked appearance of the cubes, and nearly water clear in areas. Valued at $1950. From the collection of the long time, beloved, well-known French field collector, Paul Zerfass (Collection #564). Zerfass built this worldwide collection over nearly 50 years, many of which were personally collected. A biography featuring specimens from his collection (along with his face on the cover) is in the May - June 2017 issue of French mineral magazine, Le Regne Mineral. We have a .pdf copy of the article for anybody interested in reading it (though it's mostly in French). Just drop us a line and know that you'd like to have a copy.
