Item Description

The Elmwood Mine is well known for producing some amazing Fluorite specimens. These specimens have found their way into collections around the world for their excellent size, quality, color and displayability. This piece is a wonderful specimen from this storied locale featuring a group of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, purple cubic crystals measuring up to 3.1 cm on edge with a minor coating of tiny white Calcite crystals, and no matrix. The piece is actually nearly a complete "floater" as it's crystallized on the bottom and the back, and only has one spot underneath where it was connected to the pocket wall. When backlit, you can see the crystals show attractive color zoning on the edges. The label accompanying the piece states it was once part of the collections of Dave Lewis, Dr. Barratt L. Phillips and Erik Rose. Priced at $800 in our inventory.
