Item Description

This is a lovely small cabinet sized piece of the famous Fluorites from the Cacilia Mine. This specimen features several gemmy crystals of Fluorite which are predominantly cubic in habit, but many of them are either compressed or in some way distorted, giving some unique forms that we rarely seen for the species. The color is a soft yellow hue, but because the Fluorites are so gemmy, the color looks a bit softer with backlighting. The largest Fluorite measures 1.2 cm on edge. Associated bladed iron-stained Barite makes for a nice compliment. The underside of the specimen is partially re-crystallized, so it's actually in good shape all over. Good quality all around, and highly desirable on the market, especially for a Fluorite enthusiast. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5009). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
