Item Description
Mt Antero is best known for its superior gem quality Aquamarine crytals, but there are a few additional species of note found on this famous old mountain in central Colorado. I would say that Fluorite and Phenakite are among the top species from this area. This piece is a nice frosted lavender-purple colored octahedron of Fluorite free of matrix. It's complete on the front, but contacted on the back where it was removed from the pocket wall. A nice miniature display specimen of this classic material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10317). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
