Item Description

A classic specimen of the hard to find Fluorites from Mt Antero. Obviously this locality is known for producing superb quality Aquamarine crystals, but the Fluorites are not to be ignored. This piece features sharp, lustrous, translucent, rich purple colored, cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 2.4 cm on edge, with no very little matrix. Unfortunately some crystals are contacted on the corners, but several of them are undamaged. It's quite rare to find a cabinet sized display specimen of PURPLE Fluorite from this locality in my experience. From the collection of Gary Weaver of Prescott, Arizona (1944-2019). Gary was an electrical engineer who worked for many years for Hughes Aircraft in California. You can read Gary's obituary here https://www.dcourier.com/news/2019/apr/27/obituary-gary-richard-weaver/
