Item Description
RARE, water-clear, colorless gem modified fluorite cubes from the famous Potosi Mine at Santa Eulalia. The impressive 2.5 cm cube dominates the showy intergrown cluster. The cube prism faces are glass-clear, while the modified edges have striking stepped-growth. A few scattered "bulbs" of tiny white calcite crystals are a super accent. Purple and orange fluorescence! Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12355 and acquired from noted Mexico geologist, author and collector Dr. Pete Megaw at Tucson Show in 1995. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). A major rare discovery, as even the mine level is known.
