Item Description

Classic and architectural fluorite from the famous Gibraltar Mine at Naica. Aesthetically intergrown and stacked, very glassy, transparent complex cuboctahedrons have pretty subtle pastel-green color. Most of the crystal faces have satin lustre, but some are water-clear, with TV screen-like views into the interior, adding drama. The prominent large crystal at the top is 3.0 cm. The sulfide matrix on the base has iridescent chalcopyrite, brassy pyrite and sphalerite. A fine combination flourite specimen from this renowned mining district. Purple fluorite fluorescent. Better in person.
