Item Description
Fabulous stepped-growth faces on these glassy, translucent, luscious apple-green fluorite cuboctahedrons from urban Los Angeles. The striking dominating large crystal is 2.9 cm and is doubly terminated. Every turn presents a different perspective to the intergrown crystals aesthetically set on the quartz matrix. These green fluorites were collected by the Gochenour brothers in the early 1990s, and are seldom available even within California. The vein was very small, and hard to work. It was tucked into a now-inaccessible canyon in a suburban development within the greater Los Angeles area, and can be considered a mineral from a very urban locale. Purple fluorescence. A excellent California green fluorite and a MUST for the locality or species collector. Ex Ted Bartels Collection.
