An impressive fluorite cube, large for the famous locale, is coated with a nice coating of rust-brown limonite. The complete all-around stepped-growth crystal is a pleasing, very glassy, translucent, light mint-green hue. The bit of bruising on the front is certainly only a modest detraction. Contacting/bruising on the back is out-of-sight. Known since 1726, the historic Clara Mine of the Black Forest has been mined for silver, copper, fluorite and barite. The mine has produced 453 valid species! (MINDAT). Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $145, for free. Ex Renaud Vochten Collection.
