Item Description

A classic example of the famous color-zoned Fluorites from the Minerva #1 Mine in Southern Illinois. These specimens are regarded among the most desirable and beautiful examples of Fluorite from any locality in the United States. This piece is a wonderful small cabinet full of very sharp, lustrous, gemmy cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 2.8 cm on edge with a rich golden hue at the center that transitions into a lovely purple hue on the exterior edges. A small amount of Quartz can be seen coating a few select faces on the specimen for a nice touch. The main crystals on the display side are in good condition, with only a few tiny nicks. The back of the piece is contacted where it was removed from the pocket wall, but you really can't see it when the piece is displayed. A wonderful example of this beloved and now hard to find material. Valued at $850 in the inventory.
