Item Description

A classic and hard to find example of the rarely seen Fluorites from the Churprinz Mine in Saxony, Germany. Sharp, gemmy, lustrous cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 2.1 cm are associated with minor Galena and Chalcopyrite (according to label). The Fluorites are yellow in color, but show tiny silvery modified crystals of Galena which are sitting just on or below the surface, creating a slight "dusty" appearance. Good condition on the display side, and a great piece to add to a Fluorite collection or a German suite of minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12880) with a few additional labels from other collections (no attributions given). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020. See the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record ( https://www.mineralogicalrecord.com/pdfs/Kay%20Robertson%20Collection.pdf ), and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017.
