Item Description

Many Fluorites I've seen from this area are along the yellow end of the spectrum, but this one has an unusually dark purple hue on the exterior with golden cores! The crystals are strange in their coloring, as when you you flip the piece over, you can see they have a rich purple color at the center as well. The crystals are cubic in habit, and intergrown, but individual cubes are fairly easy to discern. The largest crystal measures 9 mm on edge. Very little damage, and a GREAT addition to a Fluorite suite, or specifically a suite of German Fluorites. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4600). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
