Here we have a beautiful specimen of the iconic crystallized Fluorite specimens from the Tule Mine in Múzquiz. These Fluorites are some of the most recognizable Fluorites from any locality in Mexico. Their wonderful form and alluring color are instantly recognizable. This beautiful small cabinet features beautifully stepped cubic crystals of Fluorite with varying purple hues that range from a darker shade on the exterior edges, to nearly colorless in the center. Very minor roughness on the display side, but the piece is largely well-crystallized all over, save the edge where it was removed from the pocket wall. These pieces have been around for decades, but in recent years seem to have dried up on the market. A must have for any fan of worldwide Fluorites or Mexican minerals.
From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#183 Mx), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel.
