Fluorite (classic material)

Item Description

A classic and eye-catching specimen of these beautiful Fluorites from western New Mexico. Typically these Fluorites have more of a fuchsia / purple hue, but this one is notably green, which is not unreported from the locality, but it's hard to find pieces that are devoid of the purple coloring in my experience. A few decades ago, these pieces were a bit more plentiful, but they are not nearly as common on the market today. This piece features attractive gemmy light green colored Fluorite octahedra measuring up to 3.5 cm, with no matrix. A gentle "frosting" of micro Quartz on select faces creates a pleasing contrast. No major damage, and overall it's a very attractive piece of this distinctive and well-known material.
