Fluorite (classic material)

Item Description

The Moscona Mine in Spain is a well-known Fluorite producing locality. For years it has been providing collectors with fine quality, showy and colorful display specimens, typically of a beautiful golden color. Like most of the Fluorite-producing mines in Asturias, the habit of these crystals is cubic, and these classics are easy to recognize for their wonderful form and eye-catching color. This specimen is filled with dozens of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich golden colored cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 5 mm on edge with associated cream colored rhombic Dolomite matrix. There are tiny metallic golden Marcasite crystals embedded or slightly under the surface of multiple Fluorites for a nice touch. I can also see a TINY bit of purple color in a few spots of some Fluorite crystals. No major damage that I can find on the top/display side of the piece. When the Fluorites are backlit, you can see right through some of them, as they are virtually water clear! A very attractive and excellent example of these well-known Fluorites.
