Item Description

These iconic Fluorites from Grant County, New Mexico featuring octahedrons of a dark purple hue, and have become more and more scarce over the years. Going back a few decades, there was a time when it was not hard to find one on the market, but they are just not around anymore. This one came out of the Judith Lynn Claim and features many INTENSE pinkish-purple colored octahedra measuring up to 1.0 cm across sitting on white Quartz matrix. The Fluorites have an almost "blistered" appearance on the surface of the crystals. If you flip the piece over, you can see a small amount of green Fluorite on the underside of the piece. Some of the crystals show good internal gemminess when backlit. Great shape, minor damage, and a classic representative example of these wonderful Fluorites.
