The beautiful and acclaimed contemporary Fluorite specimens from the Diana Maria Mine inside the Rogerley Mine (Quarry) are some of the most recognized examples of the species extant. The wealth of good specimens that have come out over the last couple decades provided collectors with a great opportunity to own fantastic Fluorites from one of the most prestigious lead and iron mining districts that dates back to the 13th century! The vivid green color combined with the textbook cubic crystallization and showy display specimens make them highly desirable for collectors. This piece features a group of sharp, lustrous, well-formed, rich green color, cubic crystals measuring up to 1.5 cm on edge, on matrix. The crystals range from virtually WATER-CLEAR to more of a translucent quality on the smaller cubes. The transparent crystals show purple daylight fluorescence in sunlight, like many crystals from this locality. The main crystals at the top of the specimen show the classic penetration twinning for which this material is known. The piece shows the typical daylight purple fluorescence that is often seen in Rogerley Fluorites. From the "Queen of Green" Pocket.
