Item Description
A classic example of the beautiful and beloved Fluorites from Southern Illinois. These specimens are some of the most colorful and sought after examples of the species from any locality, and when they're at their best, they are truly awe-inspiring. This piece features well-formed, sharp, gemmy cubes of Fluorite measuring up to 4.2 cm on edge, with a small amount of etched Calcite, and no matrix. The Fluorites have some nicks/dings in a few spots, so the piece is not completely undamaged, but it's still eye-catching and displays well as you can see. Like many Fluorites from this area, this piece shifts in color from purple in indoor lighting to a highly desirable blue shade in sunlight.
