Item Description
A classic and showy Fluorite plate from this well-known Austrian Alpine locale. Pretty mint-green, translucent cubes to 5.3 cm comprise this attractive display specimen. The cubes have lightly stepped-growth faces. It's actually crystallized on the back, so it's nearly a complete "floater" and the front face on the crystal on the lower right side actually looks like there is a penetration twin cube sticking out of the front. A wonderful piece of this classic material, and certainly worth picking up if you collect worldwide Fluorites. Valued at $650. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8645). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
