Item Description

Classic fluorite from the Weisseck area of Austria. Aesthetically intergrown transparent to translucent cubes, to 2.9 cm, have blue-gray color with hints of green and purple with frosted cores and satin lustre faces. The larger crystals have interesting modified stepped-growth edges. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12358 and acquired later in her collecting life. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Purple fluorescence. An excellent 360-degree miniature, that is nearly pristine, with only gentle bruising to one corner.
