Item Description

Glorious rich golden-yellow color on the striking gem corner on this corner of a fluorite cube from a classic French locale. The rest of the translucent cube is a rich lighter yellow with internal fractures. Fluorite has been mined in the area since ancient times with the well-known "Yellow Vein" being opened in the late 1920s, just for fluorite specimens (MINDAT). The crystal GLOWS when back lit and has purple fluorescence. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1999. A gemmy, richly colored classic example from the locale.
