Item Description
Stunning bright whitish-blue fluorescence on this impressive, rich and excellent large old-time fluorite crystal plate from an unknown mine in the famous Weardale area. The striking, gem, 2.6 x 2.3 x 1.9 cm, large cube has unique glass-clear faces with a pretty lavender tint and striking faint zoning. All of the rest of the lustrous, gemmy mostly gray cubes have frosted faces, with ALL having some pretty lavender tinting. The piece is in excellent shape, for such an old-timer. The lower right corner of the large cube is gently bruised and there is only one other gently bruised corner in the interior. From an East Coast collection and comes with a faded old label. Perhaps one of our customers can identify the Weardale mine, from where this fine and rich large piece was extracted.
