Fluorite (classic locale)

Item Description

Classic Elmwood Mine fluorite small cabinet. A striking, 3.0 x 2.8 x 2.8 cm, translucent, purple fluorite cube with amazingly dense stepped-growth faces with bright waxy luster is dramatically impaled on a shard of chert with a little silicified limestone. Backlighting of the cube reveals the rich dark purple edge phantoms. Smaller fluorites on the matrix are a nice accessory and add character. The cube is complete all-around and nearly pristine. Two corners and a small bit of one edge are gently bruised, but are certainly only modest detractions. Ex Chad Dalrymple collection of Ardmore, Oklahoma who passed away in 1995. We recently obtained a portion of his collection. Chad acquired this classic and showy Elmwood fluorite specimen from well-known Indiana collector and dealer, Harris Precht in May, 1995.
