Item Description

A glorious gem corner highlights this large for the locale, rich golden-yellow fluorite cube from this famous Indiana quarry. The super glassy and lustrous cube is mostly transparent, with some translucent areas. The crystal measurements are on the diagonal. The bit of attached limestone adds character and the bit of noted edge wear is certainly only a modest detraction to this fine large example from the May Quarry. This quarry produced such outstanding and distinctive fluorites for only a short time during the 1960s to early 1970s. Rich purple fluorescence. Fluorites of this quality are rarely seen today.
