Fluorite (classic find)

A true rarity in the fluorite world today is finding one of these almost legendary examples of phantom-zoned fluorite for sale. This is a pretty small cabinet sized specimen from the Polish Prodigy Pocket (mined in 2010, but kept private till 2016-17 and then sold at Tucson) and with any decent backlighting you can see sharp, intense purple phantoms within. What is amazing, is that the phantoms are angled 45 degrees to the overlaying cubes. The cubes themselves have stairstep formations, so everywhere you look, you see shape and symmetry and a subtle patterning. There is almost no truly flat surface. These special combinations of geometry and color are rare in the mineral world and this is one of the most famous fluorite pockets ever, actually, from anywhere. Valued $2500.
