Item Description
A Colorado classic from the famous Sunnyside Mine. This is one of the largest, if not the largest, fluorite that I have seen from the mine. The frosted translucent crystals have a delicate blue-green color and a cubic form with slight stepping along some of the faces. The luster is matte, but the form is good and the color very pleasing especially when backlit. The specimen is in remarkably good condition, and is highly desirable. Even better in person. The largest fluorite is 7.9 cm, while the sharp cubes in the middle of the specimen are about 5 cm on edge. Ex Rutgers University Collectionl. This is the first of a number of specimens that were released from the Jeff Starr Collection (specializing in fluorite). Purple fluorescence.
