Fluorite, Celestine & Calcite (Nowakowski Coll.)

Item Description

Glassy, transparent to translucent, golden-brown, fluorite cubes, to 1.3 cm, and gemmy, colorless celestine crystals fill a sculptural vug lined with white calcite in the sawed limestone matrix on this showy and excellent combination from this well-known Michigan quarry. The fluorites do not fluoresce, but the celestine fluoresces blue and the calcite, white. Such combinations are not that common from here. Choice material from the Robert Nowakowski Collection. Collected in September, 2010, according to his label.
