Item Description
One of the most beautiful of old European classic fluorites: Rich golden-yellow, very glassy gem fluorite cubes, to 1.2 cm, cover the sculptural large matrix plate on this very fine and highly desirable varietal from the historic Freiberg mining district of Germany. The contrasting band of lustrous, translucent, calcite rhombs and sprinkling of tiny sparkly rubyjack sphalerite crystals are fine complements and typical accessories. See the excellent Freiberg article in the 2015 Mineralogical Record issue, Vol. 46, No. 3. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1995. Purple fluorite and neon-orange calcite fluorescence.
