Item Description
A really unusual Fluorite specimen (for Colorado) showing a frosty nearly white color on the surface, and a much more concentrated purple hue underneath. The botryoidal form, along with the attractive color make for an enticing combo for any Fluorite collector, especially a Colorado Fluorite collector. This piece was collected by Don Knowles in 1983. Good quality all around, save the edges where it was removed from the pocket. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9646). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
