Item Description
Before the famous "alien eye" Fluorites from Erongo, the Okorusu Mine was producing specimens of equal size and quality with the same effect. In my mind Okorusu is one of the most prolific operating localities in the world for Fluorite. The wide range of colors combined with large display specimens makes it a top specimen producer period. This specimen features large, pronounced, cuboctahedral crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 4.0 cm across with an vivid, deep emerald green hue that is highlighted by strong purplish "phantoms" floating inside. The final result is quite similar to the popular "alien eye" Fluorites from Erongo. The Fluorite crystals featuring sharp, well-formed faces with alternating zones of brilliant and matte luster. The piece sits wonderfully as you can see from the photos. The display side is in great shape overall, while the base / back of the piece is contacted where the specimen was removed from the pocket wall. Valued at $1,400 in the inventory.
