Item Description
Fluorites from Cumberland are classic, beloved around the world and highly sought after by collectors. This piece is a lovely group of sharp, gemmy, interpenetrant twinned crystals (on a cube-diagonal twinning axis) that show a distinct purple and green bi-color appearance that is not often seen in this material. The largest Fluorite measures 3.1 cm. The piece fluoresces a strong purple color under UV light, but also shows a bit of daylight fluorescence in sunlight. There are even a few small Calcite crystals on the Fluorites, which is not commonly seen in this material in my experience. Good shape overall, with a bit of roughness, but very attractive in person. From the collection of William Duarte. Valued at $250.
