Fluorite (beautiful color) on Quartz

There is such a wide array of Fluorites from the various mines in China. Virtually every color of the rainbow is represented in these Fluorites, and you'll often find them in good sized display specimen. This piece is a classic example of the famous pieces from the classic De'an Mine. It features a group of well-formed, sharp, lustrous, cuboctahedral crystals, with the largest measuring 3.3 cm across sitting on a layer of drusy silvery colored Quartz with an additional layer of Fluorite and Quartz underneath. When backlit, you can see the color inside of the Fluorite is a highly eye-catching saturated purple tone with a slight red overtone. When the color comes through,you almost think the piece has its own life / energy radiating within. No major damage, save the side / bottom where it was removed from the pocket wall. The piece sits beautifully on its own without the aid of a base or clay. A wonderful and beautiful specimen of this classic material. Valued at $900 in the inventory.
