Fluorites are known from thousands of localities around the world, but recently there was a new find of some beautiful material in Afghanistan. The stones exhibit a beautiful blue color (with a slight greenish overtone). One might call this a Munsell blue hue. The best way to see the color is to view the stone in sunlight. There are not places in the world where you will find that particular shade of Fluorite, let alone a faceted example like this. This stone has a "brilliant oval" cut and is virtually eye clean in terms of clarity. This is the only piece I have to offer of these attractive gems, so do not miss out on this one.
