Item Description
An old-time, showy and excellent fluorite combination from an unknown mine in the famous Alston Moor District. Intergrown, quite gemmy straw-yellow fluorite cubes, to 2.3 cm, have satin lustre faces and pretty faint hints of lavender color. Classic and excellent accessories are the preferential coatings of saddle-shaped ankerite crystals amidst fields of smaller calcite or ankerite diskes, including tiny isolated sphalerite crystals. Very nearly pristine, with only one gently bruised corner in the interior. Rich purple fluorescence. Undoubtedly old-time material, but no proof. Possibly from the Brownley Hill Mine. From an East Coast collection. Classic Alston Moor fluorite combination material.
