Fluorite and Sphalerite

A gorgeous, classic combination specimen of zoned purple fluorite on a highly lustrous ruby-jack sphalerite from the most famous zinc mine in the Carthage, Tennessee area, the Elmwood Mine. Three intergrown fluorites run along the top of a pointed sphalerite crystal. The back of the specimen is flattened, as it was the part that was attached to the wall of the pocket in the mine. The fluorites have a sharp purple band around the edges that outline the crystals and add real distinction to this specimen. Ex. Alex Venzke. It is really difficult to find a good and balanced THUMBNAIL OR MINIATURE SIZED example of this material, which is more commonly cabinet sized! As a large thumbnail/small miniature, this stands out among others for the combination, color, quality. It has a fineness to it, that we rarely see in matrix fluorite miniatures/thumbnails, which makes it collectible.
