Fluorite and Quartz on Ferberite

The Yaogangxian Mine is one of China's great specimen producers. For 20+ years, the market has seen a great deal of fine quality display specimens with a range of common to rare species. This small cabinet specimen features an excellent, gemmy, purple crystal group of Fluorite measuring 5.2 x 4.1 cm which is mostly cubic in habit, but the corners have dozens upon dozens of tiny "stepped" modifications, giving the piece a pseudo-cuboctahedral habit. The Fluorite is associated with a single translucent white Quartz prism flaring aesthetically out of the top right corner of the group, and they are beautifully perched atop a lovely striated, thick, jet-black cluster of Ferberite crystals. Minor Quartz crystals and a bit of golden Muscovite can be seen on the piece for a great accent. The Ferberite group is crystallized all around, and it's even partially crystallized / recrystallized on the base, so it's in great shape all around. Yes, there are a few minor nicks / imperfections, but overall the piece is very attractive and really showy. Priced in the inventory at $1,750.
