Fluorite and Quartz (classic old USA locale, 1960s)

A rare Fluorite specimen from a single famous find in the 1960s as they dug a railroad cut near Thomaston Dam. Few specimens turn up today, and this one is not only an attractive pair of Fluorite, but Hematite-tinted Quartz is a very appealing complement to the Fluorites, especially with the way the piece is arranged. The largest Fluorite cube, with its beveled edges, reaches 2.7 cm, and the fluorescence is very good. Former Taldino Testone collection, self-collected by him at the time. This is a presentable, display-quality specimen of a rare combination from a very rare find, and you probably won't ever see another like it for sale (we have not!). Again, like many of the old USA classics in this collection, such things are hard to value because there simply are not market comparables, they are unique survivors.
