Fluorite and Quartz

Riemvasmaak Fluorites, with their vibrant green color, are one of those instantly recognizable specimens, and for very good reason: the contrast of shapes and color is almost unique and stunning, still to this day over a decade later. The sharp Fluorite octahedrons are set in white Quartz, usually microcrystalline, and the beautiful green set against the white is dramatic. In this small cabinet piece, the largest Fluorite is 3 cm tip to tip, and the arrangement of the Fluorites in a seam, with the largest at the pinnacle, is just about perfect. Here, it is unusual that the Quartz growth is highly crystalline, with the largest being 1.6 cm. Excellent Fluorites like these from Riemvasmaak, partly covered with thin sugary Quartz crusts, first appeared on the market in 2004. The aesthetics on this beauty are particularly good, highlighted by the color, fluorescence, luster and form of the Fluorites, as well as the crystalline development of the Quartz. A superb small cabinet specimen valued $2000-2500 for sharp quality, from finds of the mid-2000s.
