Fluorite and Quartz

Item Description

Nice combination of gemmy, brownish-purple Fluorites resting on Quartz. The Fluorites have very good luster and gemminess, and range up to 1.1 cm. The main Quartz crystal is 3.5 cm tall, with good form. It has a matte luster, which actually complements the Fluorites very well, and helps them stand out visually. The most interesting feature of the piece is the prevelant white coating of drusy Quartz. Looking closely, you can see the sparkly crystals. What's more, there are epimorphic Quartz casts after Feldspar that are quite visible in the photos, and are sharp when you look at them in hand. These epimorphs elevate the piece to a whole new level. Overall, this may not be the most aesthetic of Erongo specimens, but there is no denying the important details and structures within.
