Fluorite and Hyaite Opal

Interesting and attractive cluster of deep purple Fluorites from the famous Erongo Mountains. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this cluster is that several characteristics are reminiscent of other localities. The overall cluster geometry reminds me more of some of the classic Chinese localities, and the bevelled edges of the Fluorite cubes are vintage Berbes. The deep purple cubes are actually quite gemmy, and the largest is about 2 cm across. One corner of the cluster has been cleaved due to contact, but it is not necessarily visible when mounted. The presentation side remains pristine. There is some brilliantly fluorescent Hyalite Opal coating some of the crystal faces. A quality, and aesthetic small cabinet specimen.
