Item Description

Beautiful and classic Fluorite specimen from the famous Cave-in-Rock District in southern Illinois. Quite possibly from the Minerva #1 Mine, these crystals are both gemmy and lustrous, a combination not often found from these mines. The Fluorites are a gemmy yellow with the classic blue zones along the edges, as well as having included and partially-included Chalcopyrites. The largest crystal, though partial, is 6 cm on one set of edges. There are several cleaved corners on some of the Fluorites but the piece is so visually bright and impressive that the cleaves are hard to notice unless you are looking for them, and I can live with them as it is such a stunning display piece otherwise. One of the more attractive Illinois Fluorites I have seen available in awhile.
