Item Description

An imposing cabinet specimen with a really sculptural combination of calcite on fluorite!! This piece, mined in early 2015 from a very special pocket with this unique combination of color and style, features a large, lustrous and translucent fluorite cube wreathed with flower-like clusters of slightly pink calcite. The fluorite is intensely green for the locality and exibits an overall light green color with a darker, richer, green core. The crystal measures 6.4 cm on an edge. It is partially covered by hundreds of white disc-shaped (flattened rhombohedra) calcite with crystals to 1.6 cm across that form litlte flowery clusters. It is pristine save only a few very small dings on a few calcites. The piece can be displayed vertically or from the sides. It is elegant, unusual, and pretty. Specimen like this normally cost $5000-10,000 in China. However, I got it as part of a much larger specimen and trimmed it off in the process of reducing the piece to salable sizes. I could never buy such a thing separately in China for what this will probably sell for. Valued $7500
