Item Description
A classic from the northern lead mines of England. This small cabinet display specimen features superb quality, very sharp, highly lustrous, gemmy, beautiful cubic crystals showing textbook penetration twins on very minor matrix. The largest crystal measures 2.5 cm on edge and is completely undamaged. The ranges from a mix of purple, pinkish and green hues indoors (under LED lighting) to more saturated solid purple hue in sunlight. Most of the Fluorites are in very good shape, though the piece is contacted around the back edge where it was removed from the pocket wall. The crystals show some slight internal "phantoms" when backlit and the color ranges from that glowing purple hue to almost a golden color to nearly colorless. Great quality, aesthetics and size on this one, but perhaps the most impressive aspect of the piece is that it sits on its own without the aid of a base or clay! Valued at $3,750 in the inventory
