Item Description
This is a nice display specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen has no Amazonite, but features sharp, well-formed, purplish colored cubic crystals of Fluorite with a tiny bit of beige colored Microcline. Like most of these Fluorites, the color looks best in sunlight. As I mentioned, there is virtually no matrix, so it's Fluorite all the way around. The piece is in good shape on the display side, but it's not complete on the back. A nice example of this classic material from Colorado.
