Item Description

A rarely seen example of Fluorite from the famous Cripple Creek District in Colorado. This area is one of the most well-known Gold producers in the history of Colorado mining, famous for its tellurides. Fluorite is not unheard of from Cripple Creek, but it's typially not the main focus for collectors. This piece is from an obscure mine (collected in the 1960s) featuring super micro cubes of lavender purple Fluorite on host rock matrix. The Fluorites are indeed crystallized, and beautifully so, but they are very tiny, and I had to boost the power on my microscope to maximum in order to see them. Personally, I've never seen this particular material before, and it would be a great opportunity for a Colorado collector, a world wide Fluorite collector or even a micro collector to have a piece of this hard to find material in their collection.
