Item Description

The many quarries across the Midwest United States only produce a limited number of species, but many of them have yielded some gorgeous Fluorites. In the 1970s, the May Quarry gave us some really fine quality display specimens of Fluorite. Here we have a lovely pair of thumbnail sized specimens featuring VERY GEMMY, sharp, lustrous, well-formed cubes with the classic soft golden-yellow hue. The largest Fluorite on either specimen measures 1.4 cm on edge. Excellent quality on both pieces, with only the slightest of imperfections. A nice set of these classic and hard to find Fluorites from Indiana. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7006). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
