Fluorite (2 generations - rare 2016 find)

A rich secondary overgrowth of variable purplish-gray, frosted, stepped-growth cuboctahedrons covers this exotic and colorful two-generation fluorite from a small 2016 find at a very obscure locality in Zhejiang Province, China. Rich emerald-green, gemmy, gorgeous fluorite octahedrons, to 3.5 cm on edge, cover the colorful, sculptural large matrix plate. Some of the green octos have very subtle edge phantoms adding pizzazz. The octos remind me of outstanding emerald-green fluorites from Riemasvaak, South Africa. The emerald-green hue is even richer on this fine piece and the octos glow, when back lit. Rich purple fluorescence. The bit of noted periphery wear is certainly only a modest detraction. A fine large rich plate from the limited find.
