Fascinating and colorful 2-generation and 2-sided small cabinet fluorite from the deposits near Chifeng City in Inner Mongolia. Fantastic sharp, intergrown fluorite octahedrons have striking phantoms and are dramatically mostly encased by densely intergrown, nearly colorless small fluorite cubes. Both fluorite crystal types have satin luster faces. The exposed faces of the imposing large octahedron are 5.3 x 5.0 cm. Pretty green transparent edge phantoms surround a purple core under normal light. Back lighting reveals a beautiful cranberry-red core to the octahedrons. There's a 4.5 cm sliver of green fluorite at the base along with some quartz, as a bonus. Both fluorite varietals have purple LW UV fluorescence. Overall it's certainly a highly unusual and distinctive style of 2-generation fluorite, not just for Chifeng, but almost anywhere else in China, which is really saying something considering how many fluorite specimens have come out of the country in the last couple decades.
