A wonderful highly aesthetic Fluorite specimen from the Xianghualing Mine featuring two distinct generations of growth with a handful of very well-formed, sharp, translucent, soft green colored octahedrons measuring up to 3.0 cm across, which are sitting atop a previous generation of cubic (with slight octahedral faces) Fluorite of similar quality and color, and no matrix. This change in crystal habits indicates a rise in temperature and pressure in the pocket, as octahedral Fluorites require an increase to form, and cubic Fluorites form at a lower temperature/pressure. The piece is in very good condition on the display side, but the lower/underside portion is not complete where the piece was separated from the pocket wall. It still displays beautifully as you can see from the video. If you collect Fluorites or minerals of China, don't miss out on this attractive piece from this prodigious specimen producing locality. These pieces seemingly have dried up, and they will go down as some of the most iconic and beautiful display quality Fluorites from any Chinese locality.
